Weighing In

This past week was tough for me. I was dealing with my third week of a nasty sinus infection plus I got a cold on top of it. I had absolutely no energy at all. I only made it to the gym once to work out. I am really missing my Zumba class! There were also a couple of days that I know I went over on my calories and one day that I forgot to log anything at all. So this morning I stepped on the scale not expecting to see any results from my lousy week.

What? I lost a pound on a lousy week? That's great! To see one less pound on the scale when I expected to see a maintain or a gain made my morning!

I'm calling my doctor on Monday to get some antibiotics for this sinus infection. Hopefully I'll get to feeling better soon.

Today's gong to be a busy day as well. Lucy, our new puppy, has completely shredded the couch and recliner. We hauled that furniture off to the dump yesterday and today will be going and getting some cheap replacement furniture. We've found a futon at Wal-Mart that's inexpensive and the frame is made of metal. As long as we put the cushion in the closet or Brenna's room during the day when we're gone that will be good. The dog can't shred metal. And we've found some papasan chairs with metal frames too that we're going to go look at. Yesterday we spent the day cleaning up the fluff from the inside of the recliner and couch and hauling it all off. We also shampooed the living room carpet, swept and mopped the kitchen floor, and started the laundry. Now to get some furniture in the living room again!

Here's to a more productive week for me and to a healthier week as well. I hope to kick this sinus infection and cold to the curb soon.

Weighing In

This was not my easiest week ever. "That time of the month" hit and I was craving Fanta orange and chocolate so bad! I caved a bit and had some chocolate but did work it into my calorie limit for the day. In the past when I gave into a craving I ended up throwing the whole day to the wind. this time, I didn't do that. We even had a pizza party at work one day this week and i successfully worked in two slices of cheese pizza into my day's calories without going over. Now that's progress!

Even with that little bit of progress plus my newly found love of Zumba I didn't expect great things on the scale simply because it was that lovely time of the month. So, I woke up this morning and stepped on the scale to find this staring back at me.

Holy cow! I lost 3.8 pounds this week and am down 10.8 pounds total! Sweet!!!!!

I admit I was totally not expecting that! I like seeing those kind of surprises on the scale! I am now able to check off another item on my 100 Goals in 100 Pounds page as well as my first weight mini goal! Fabulous!

I am still going strong on my 100 Days of Water challenge too. I am sure not having a bunch of sugary beverages is helping quite a bit. Yes, I still have cravings for my beloved Fanta orange but I am not giving in. I'm enjoying the numbers going down on the scale more than I'd enjoy the taste of that orange soda right now.

There's another Zumba class at the gym at 2:30PM today. I plan to be there. The gym's child care will be open during that time so I can definitely do that.

Here's a virtual image of what I look like at my current weight and what I will look like at my goal of 135 pounds. I'm going to look amazing!

Here's to another successful week!

Getting it Done

This has been a wild week for me. "That time of the month" hit a few days ago and ladies always hold on to some water during that time. It's frustrating but I am trying not to look at the scale right now. Tomorrow's weigh in and in spite of my cravings for everything bad on the planet I am staying within my calorie range and getting my workouts in.

One of the items I have my 100 Goals in 100 Pounds page is to try three different group fitness classes at the gym. So, I listened to a friend at work who has found success in Zumba. So this week on Thursday I went to a Zumba class at my gym. Let me tell you, I have no coordination and I can't dance worth a flip. But this was really a lot of fun! I'm very self conscious of the fact that I can't dance and struggle with the rhythm but after about ten minutes I realized a couple of things. One, I wasn't the only fat person in the class. Two, I wasn't the only uncoordinated person in the class. And three, I actually could keep up pretty well! I'm going again today. There's a class at my gym at noon and I don't want to miss it!

It's raining today and my sinuses are killing me. I've been dealing with a bad sinus infection anyway but to have the pressure on top of it with the rain makes me feel yucky. I hope this rain stops soon. I've already used my Neti pot this morning and it helped a little but things are still icky.

All right, tomorrow's weigh in. I really hope to see a loss tomorrow, even if it is that time of the month for me!

Weighing In

Well today's the day to see if my hard working throughout the week paid off. I've been very pleased with myself this week. I ate within my calorie limit. I worked out. I drank my water. I've done the right things. So, this morning it was time to weigh. As soon as I wake up, head for the bathroom. Strip, pee, weigh. And here's what I saw looking back at my from the scale:

Yep! 283.6! I am down 5.2 pounds for the week! Fantastic!

Yes, I know that at the beginning you lose quicker than you do later in the journey. But this number was very motivating for me! I am pleased to be on my way to success and health!

Happy New Year 2014

Happy New Year 2014! This is the year for me to reach my goals. It's time. No longer will I stay sedentary. No longer will I let events and circumstances be an excuse for poor eating habits and lack of exercise. This is the year I make it happen.

Earlier today I was heading to the gym listening to the new Katy Perry CD that I got for my birthday. "Roar" came on and I actually began to listen to the words. Honestly, this is a great theme song for me for the year! No matter how many times in my life I get knocked down, I always get back up. The same goes for weight loss. I can have less than perfect days but as long as I keep at it, I will get there.

"Cause I am a champion....and you're gonna hear me ROAR!"

Here's to a wonderful, successful year!

On The Right Track

I've always preferred Sundays as my weigh in day. Even though I just started this new regime on Thursday I wanted to officially weigh in today. I wasn't expecting anything huge but the scale is definitely moving! Thanks the Lord I am done with the 290's! Hello 280's! But these 280's better not get too comfortable. I plan to move right on through them.

Nick and I are going to be heading to the gym soon. Brenna's in the bath and he and I are hoping to hit the pool at the gym. I love to swim. Plus, I don't sweat when I swim so that's a double bonus!

Today is Day 3 of my 100 Days of Water challenge. Honestly right now I am not having any trouble passing up the sodas, juice, or tea. I hope that continues! I hope everyone's having a fabulous day!

1000 Miles in 2014

I've signed up for a challenge on 3 Fat Chicks to walk 1000 miles in 2014. So I've added a mileage ticker to the top of this blog. I'll update it as I walk those miles.
