On The Right Track


I've always preferred Sundays as my weigh in day. Even though I just started this new regime on Thursday I wanted to officially weigh in today. I wasn't expecting anything huge but the scale is definitely moving! Thanks the Lord I am done with the 290's! Hello 280's! But these 280's better not get too comfortable. I plan to move right on through them.

Nick and I are going to be heading to the gym soon. Brenna's in the bath and he and I are hoping to hit the pool at the gym. I love to swim. Plus, I don't sweat when I swim so that's a double bonus!

Today is Day 3 of my 100 Days of Water challenge. Honestly right now I am not having any trouble passing up the sodas, juice, or tea. I hope that continues! I hope everyone's having a fabulous day!

1000 Miles in 2014

I've signed up for a challenge on 3 Fat Chicks to walk 1000 miles in 2014. So I've added a mileage ticker to the top of this blog. I'll update it as I walk those miles.

100 Days of Water: Day 2 Complete

Today I completed Day 2 of my 100 Days of Water challenge I've set for myself. Well done!

Breakfast was a half cup of fat free cottage cheese and a cheese omelette with salsa. Lunch was a can of Campbell's tomato soup (made with water as I can't stand it when made with milk). And dinner was a steak salad. I stayed under my calorie limit for the day and have done well. I'm pleased with my day.

Tomorrow my husband and I are going to Kohl's to exchange the shoes he got for Christmas for a smaller size. They're far too wide for his feet. We plan on hitting the gym tomorrow afternoon. I'd really like to swim tomorrow but I need to find some earplugs. See, I have a bit of a problem with dizziness and if I get water in my ears I am sure I will feel some vertigo. We're seeing doctors to try to get to the bottom of it. One doc says that I have migraine associated vertigo and we've been referred to a neurologist for further testing. I'll be making an appointment with the neurologist after the first of the year.

I am hoping that tomorrow goes as well!

One Day At A Time


So, today is December 26, 2013. It's the day after Christmas, otherwise known as Boxing Day. I've already taken the tree down and put it away for another year. I'm going to leave the outdoor decorations up until this weekend and will take them down then.

The new year is right around the corner. Every new year many of us make a resolution to lose weight. This year, my resolution is to get healthy. Of course, weight loss will be part of that but this journey is much more than just a number on the scale. I want to keep up with my kids. I want to be able to run around with them and ride roller coasters at amusement parks with them. I don't want to be the mom who sits on the sidelines and does nothing. I've been "that mom" far too long.

Today my husband and I joined Atlanta Fitness in Newnan. We were members there a couple of years ago and cancelled when we thought we'd be moving out of state. The move never took place so we joined the gym once again. They are pretty cool. Price-wise they are the best around for the amenities you get. There are two locations in our area. One's an express club that has machines and is open 24 hours. The other has child care, a pool, and fitness classes in addition to the machines and weights. So for $29 a month you get access to both. Child care is $10 a month and the child can stay for 2 hours at a time. It's very reasonably priced.

I'm going now to take my new puppy to the vet to get her stitches out from being spayed last week. then I'll bring her home and I think I may go hit the pool at the gym for a while before I have to go pick up my daughter from day care. Then we can take the dogs for a walk and she can ride her new bike!

The difficult part is going to be figuring out how to fit the gym into my already hectic and crazy schedule. It can be done. I just have to plan things out better going forward.
